The Senior Accountant position is an outstanding opportunity for a growth-oriented, quick-learner who possesses a strong attention to detail and who will thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse responsibilities.  The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying all financial transactions.  A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze the general ledger and financial reports.


  • Manage month-end and year-end close process
  • Prepare journal entries (deferred revenue, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, etc.)
  • Review and analyze the general ledger to ensure the integrity of accounting information compliance with GAAP
  • Thoroughly review of employee payroll processing and physician payment calculations for accuracy
  • Perform monthly employee benefit audits verifying carrier billing accuracy
  • Process and oversee all accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage past due collections as needed
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Process inter-company transactions
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Daily cash management of various bank and credit card accounts
  • Manage new and existing capital leases
  • Review and reconcile credit card transactions and employee expense reimbursements Prepare/review bank reconciliations
  • Analyze and report monthly budget variances
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial operating reports
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports, as needed
  • Prepare supporting documentation for annual audit and income tax return third party preparers
  • Managing workers’ compensation audits
  • Prepare supplemental tax returns (business property, sales & use, etc.)
  • Assist with establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Other tasks as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5-7 years of job related experience in a service and/or technology related industry
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks required
  • Very strong computer literacy using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience with payroll processing in multiple states
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with month-end/year-end close process
  • Familiarity with preparation and review of financial statements
  • Prior involvements in accounting software conversions preferred, but not required
  • Experience working for a company whose financial statements are audited
